There won’t be a presentation. The CINLUG board of directors wasn’t able to arrange for an outside presenter this month. Instead of a regular meeting, this month we’ll have more like an open-house were you may drop in anytime to catch-up with other members.
Jitsi Meet, on the 8×8 hosted public service, will be used for the event. You can use the WebRTC Javascript to connect via most modern web browsers, or install a mobile app. (Be sure to install Jitsi Meet. The Jitsi Desktop application is for VoIP calls.) You may receive a notification about installing a calendar integration extension. This may be declined. To test your connection before our meeting, you may visit: https://meet.jit.si/ and start your own meeting. We used Jitsi Meet for a few meetings last year with mixed results. Like any Internet communication application, the performance may be better with a wired connection. The Jitsi UI has an option to adjust your video quality, which might help. You may also adjust the audio volume for individual participants.
The Jitsi Meet software is opensource under the Apache license. You may access the source on github: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet.

CINLUG meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm. They are FREE and OPEN to the public. Annual membership dues are $30 and payment of dues is encouraged to help with funding events and expenses. Just show up and find out more to see if you want to become a member.
