September 2026 CINLUG Meeting — The Air-Gapped Stack: Local Knowledge & Mesh Radios

What happens when the information age goes dark?

We rely on the Internet for everything — from learning and navigation to troubleshooting and communication. Getting along without the Internet is not just a use case for `doom preppers` hiding in a bunker; it’s about ownership, privacy, and resilience for all of us.

Join Joshua Loscar1 when he presents and demonstrates 2 projects to CINLUG that help solve that issue.

  • Project Nomad brings terabytes of human knowledge and GPU-accelerated AI directly to your own hardware, completely severed from big tech and ISP dependency.
  • Meshtastic handles off-grid text messaging using low-power long range (“LoRA”) radios. With it, you suddenly have a complete, self-hosted communications and knowledge stack that literally cannot be
    unplugged.

Join us on Wednesday, September 2nd at 18:30 (6:30 PM) EDT to learn more about these projects, and receive a practical guide on how to get started.

CINLUG thanks Moser Consulting for hosting our meetings at their facility2. (There will be a phone number at the entrance to call to be let into the building.) The meeting will be simultaneously broadcast over this Jitsi Meet URL for those who cannot attend in person. (Though in-person attendance is encouraged. Attendees often head over to a nearby restaurant, afterward, for drinks and camaraderie!)

CINLUG meetings are the 1st Wednesday of every month, so please block that night off in your calendar to keep it available. You are also encouraged to sign up for our mailing lists and to follow us on our various social media sites3 to receive announcements and participate in discussions.
