April 2, 2014 - General Meeting

Topic: Bitcoin

Presenter: Bernie Hoefer

Have you heard about Bitcoin in the news lately, and wonder what it is? Have you heard about Bitcoin for the past few years and kept meaning to learn more about it? Come find out what it is, how it works and why so many people -- rightly or wrongly -- think it is a big deal.

Bernie Hoefer, a Unix system administrator with 18 years of experience, will give an introductory talk on Bitcoin at the Wednesday, April 02, 2014 CINLUG meeting. Over the years, Bernie has worked extensively with Free and Open Source technology. After years of hearing about one such technology (Bitcoin), he spent the last 6 months studying, listening to podcasts, reading news about and -- more recently -- using Bitcoin.
