Modem Help

I noticed that linux doesn't like windows modems. I have one but need suggestions on what modems work well with linux.

Re:Modem Help

While Linux MAY be able to made to work with certain types of WinModems, I agree that junking the Winmodem is the best idea.

I recommend an external serial port modem as the easiest type to set up in Linux. I haven't heard of any external serial port Winmodems.

I'm still a little wary of recommending a USB modem for you to use in Linux. Depending on the distribution you're running (and the kernel version), you may have USB problems.
