Opensource growing in down economy

Matt Asay, COO of Canonical (Ubuntu holding company), has regular column on The Register. His recent "Open...and Shut" column talks about how with the bad economy, more companies are adopting opensource software. Large proprietary companies are holding there own, but smaller companies are suffering.
