Historical (Vintage) Hardware Day?
How about an "historical hardware" contest or something? Bring in your oldest and/or most unique system(s) (linux or not) and compete for a prize of some sort. i.e. Bring in your old 286 laptop running linux and tell the story of your hardware and how you did it. Bring in your old HP LED calculator watch...or a slide rule or Apple I, or IMSAI 8080. Heck you could enter more than one entry...as long as they work and you can lug them through the door. I like computer history, and would find something like this fun. The CINLUG leaders could go out and get something cool to compete for and announce the prize before the meeting. We could number the entries as they are presented then let people check them out and then have everyone vote for their 3 favorites or something, and then the one with the most votes wins.
Didn't know if this should go in meeting topics or the "hardware trading" topic. P.S. When is Todd returning...you know he wants that old laptop from Michael and that would be a good day to get it.
Heck, an old rare original pong game or Timex Sinclair which had RF out into a TV tuner on your Linux Laptop so you can play it could be a winner! :)

Re: Historical (Vintage) Hardware Day?
I'm here. I really am. :) My feet are just nailed to this hardwood floor. I can probably sneak out of the house for short periods to pick up DVDs, laptops, and various sums of small umarked bills. You've got my email address, and maybe even my phone number. Call me. Note: I will also attend Bored Meetings for Food.
