Pre-Install problem
hi I was trying to install slackware onto my laptop but when it boots straight from cd before it installs anything it can boot the kerel but when it asks if I want to use a US keyboard press enter or hit 1, it wont let me hit any keys. i've downloaded the cd's three times and even used a set so install on an older laptop. Any ideas

What type of brand and model laptop do you have? On my laptop I had to disable legacy USB support in the BIOS. You might have to try something similar.

when i disable the lagacy usb support will i no longer be able to use my usb devices anymore? cause i got an external HD and a key and stuff[/quote]
You should be able to use USB devices regardless of whether or not legacy USB is enabled. Legacy USB primarily refers to USB keyboards and whether they work before the kernel and drivers are loaded.
