im sory but i live in knox co.but if you tell me your ill try to help i use suse 9.3 you can download the iso's from suse.com and its a lot easer to set up

Don,

You may want to consider using a distribution which is more current than Suse 8. I would suggest browsing http://www.linuxiso.org/ and selecting the distribution of your choice (I'm terribly biased toward Red Hat offerings, but you know what they say about opinions :) ). If you are having video card issues, it's likely that something newer will work out of the box. Video drivers move quickly, the newer distributions support many more cards than the older ones do.

If you want help in a somewhat speedier manner, I'd suggest you think about using the cinlug mailing list (http://lists.cinlug.org/listinfo/cinlug). I know I personally only look at these forums once a week or so, while I check my mail rather often.

Don's post is from our old site (notice the post date of December 11, 2002). SuSE 8 was most likely current at that time.
